Shipping at a glance

From checkout to completed delivery

A quick summary of the current GRAIL shipping lifecycle. The complete policy below controls.

Seller responsibility
Ship the correct item securely and within the applicable GRAIL timeframe shown or communicated for the order.
Buyer responsibility
Provide an accurate validated delivery address and inspect the order promptly after delivery.
Shipping rates
Calculated or estimated through the existing checkout shipping system based on available shipment information.
Tracking
Used to confirm label creation, carrier acceptance, transit, delivery, exceptions, and payout eligibility where available.
Inspection
Begins after confirmed delivery for eligible purchases and currently runs for three days.
Seller payout
Released only after current shipping, delivery, inspection, dispute, refund, and payout-account conditions are satisfied.

At GRAIL, secure and reliable shipping is an important part of creating a trusted marketplace.

This Shipping Policy explains the responsibilities of buyers and sellers, how shipments are processed, how tracking is used, and how shipping events affect transactions completed through GRAIL.

This Policy applies to purchases completed through the official GRAIL checkout process.

Sections
01

1. Our Shipping Standards

Every shipment should be handled with care, accuracy, and professionalism.

Our shipping standards are designed to:

  • Protect buyers.
  • Protect sellers.
  • Reduce shipping disputes.
  • Improve delivery reliability.
  • Support secure marketplace transactions.

Sellers are expected to follow these standards for every eligible order.

GRAIL may review shipping activity, order status, carrier events, address information, and user communications when necessary to support marketplace integrity.

02

2. Seller Shipping Responsibilities

After a buyer completes payment, sellers are responsible for preparing the purchased item for shipment.

Sellers should:

  • Ship the correct item.
  • Package the item securely.
  • Use appropriate protective materials.
  • Ship within the timeframe shown for the order or otherwise communicated by GRAIL.
  • Use the approved transaction shipping address and supported order workflow.
  • Follow any shipping procedures required by GRAIL.
  • Cooperate if shipping questions arise.

Shipping the wrong item, delaying shipment without good reason, or failing to properly package an item may affect marketplace standing.

Sellers should notify GRAIL promptly if they know they cannot ship as required.

03

3. Seller Shipping Origin

Sellers may be required to provide and maintain an accurate Shipping Origin through the Billing & Payouts shipping-origin manager.

The Shipping Origin is used to calculate live shipping rates before checkout and support shipment preparation after a sale.

Sellers may be required to:

  • Provide an accurate origin address.
  • Validate that address through GRAIL’s supported shipping system.
  • Keep the origin current.
  • Use the correct origin when obtaining quotes or labels.
  • Update the origin before publishing or fulfilling listings where required.

GRAIL may prevent listing publication or shipment workflows when a required validated origin is missing.

Seller origin street-address details are used for shipping operations and are not displayed publicly as part of a listing merely because an origin is configured.

04

4. Buyer Shipping Responsibilities

Buyers are responsible for:

  • Providing a complete and accurate shipping address.
  • Reviewing order information before completing a purchase.
  • Using an address where they are authorized to receive shipments.
  • Including applicable apartment, suite, unit, building, or access information.
  • Responding promptly if address clarification is required.
  • Monitoring shipment tracking and delivery notices.
  • Receiving deliveries when reasonably possible.
  • Inspecting purchases promptly after delivery.
  • Reporting material issues within the applicable inspection period.

Address validation helps identify incomplete or potentially undeliverable addresses, but it does not guarantee carrier delivery.

Incorrect or incomplete shipping information supplied by the buyer may affect delivery, reshipment, refund eligibility, Buyer Protection, or dispute outcomes.

GRAIL reviews address-related issues case by case and subject to applicable law and marketplace policies.

05

5. Address Validation

GRAIL may submit shipping addresses to Shippo or another supported shipping provider for validation.

Suggested corrections may be presented when the provider identifies a more complete or standardized address.

Validation helps identify incomplete, invalid, or potentially undeliverable addresses.

The buyer and seller remain responsible for reviewing their own address information before using it.

Provider validation does not guarantee delivery, carrier acceptance, or the absence of address-related issues.

GRAIL may decline, pause, or block a transaction or workflow when required shipping information cannot be validated or reasonably confirmed.

If provider validation is temporarily unavailable, GRAIL may use a normalized entered address where the existing order or address workflow permits it.

06

6. Shipping Quotes and Charges

Shipping amounts may depend on verified transaction-specific factors, including:

  • Seller origin.
  • Buyer destination.
  • Package dimensions.
  • Package weight.
  • Carrier.
  • Service level.
  • Insurance, where supported.
  • Signature confirmation, where supported.
  • Tracking services.
  • Shipping-provider availability.
  • Other shipment-specific factors.

GRAIL intends to display the available shipping charge before the buyer completes payment whenever reasonably calculable.

A shipping quote may expire or change before payment.

A carrier or provider may update available services, rates, or delivery estimates.

Estimated rates are not guaranteed until the transaction is completed where applicable.

Taxes are separate from shipping charges.

GRAIL Credit does not automatically eliminate shipping unless checkout expressly shows that result.

07

7. Marketplace Fallback Shipping

GRAIL’s checkout shipping system may use live carrier rates when the seller origin, buyer destination, package assumptions, selected shipping profile, and provider availability support a live quote.

When a live rate is temporarily unavailable or a selected shipping profile does not support live label generation, GRAIL may use the configured marketplace shipping estimate for that transaction.

The amount charged to the buyer should still be shown before payment.

Fallback estimates are not a representation that every shipment costs the same amount or that every carrier service is available for every order.

08

8. Supported Shipping Providers and Carriers

GRAIL currently uses Shippo as an integrated shipping technology provider for supported address validation, rate, label, and tracking workflows.

Shippo does not physically transport the package.

Transportation is performed by the selected third-party carrier.

Available services may vary by origin, destination, selected shipping profile, package details, carrier availability, and provider response.

GRAIL does not guarantee that every order will use the same carrier, service, label flow, or tracking capability.

09

9. Shipping Labels

Where supported, GRAIL may provide or facilitate shipping labels through integrated shipping providers.

If GRAIL provides or requires a shipping label for an order, sellers should use that label unless otherwise instructed.

Obtaining or printing a shipping label is different from physically tendering the package to the carrier.

Printing a label does not mean the item has shipped.

Shipment generally occurs when the carrier accepts possession of the package or GRAIL otherwise verifies shipment through its supported process.

Sellers should use the transaction’s approved address and label where GRAIL requires it.

Sellers should not reuse, alter, or substitute labels in a misleading manner.

Sellers remain responsible for packaging and tendering the correct package.

For shipping profiles that do not support GRAIL label generation, the order workflow may provide a separate mailed-shipment confirmation path.

10

10. Shipping Deadline

Sellers must ship within the timeframe shown for the order or otherwise communicated by GRAIL.

If a fixed shipping deadline is not displayed for a particular order, sellers are still expected to ship promptly and communicate if a delay occurs.

The shipping obligation begins after buyer payment is completed and the order is ready for fulfillment through GRAIL’s order workflow.

GRAIL may consider weekends, holidays, carrier limitations, and exceptional circumstances only where consistent with the order experience, marketplace policies, and applicable law.

No seller should assume an extension is available unless GRAIL communicates one or the applicable workflow permits it.

11

11. Delayed Shipment and Cancellation

If a seller cannot ship within the stated or applicable timeframe, the seller should notify GRAIL as soon as reasonably possible.

Depending on the circumstances, GRAIL may:

  • Notify the buyer.
  • Request seller information.
  • Allow additional time where appropriate.
  • Request buyer consent to a delay where required.
  • Cancel the transaction.
  • Refund amounts paid.
  • Restrict selling.
  • Adjust Trust Score through existing rules.
  • Take other action permitted by the Terms of Service.

GRAIL does not promise automatic extensions.

Delay reviews are case-specific and must remain consistent with Buyer Protection, dispute, refund, and applicable-law requirements.

12

12. Packaging Standards

Sellers are responsible for packaging items in a manner reasonably intended to protect them during normal transportation.

Packaging should be appropriate for the item type, value, condition, and expected carrier handling.

For raw cards, suitable packaging may include:

  • Penny sleeve or equivalent protective sleeve.
  • Top loader, semi-rigid holder, or other appropriate rigid protection.
  • Team bag or sealed protective layer.
  • Cardboard or other bend protection.
  • Padded mailer or box appropriate for the shipment.
  • Void fill to prevent movement.

For graded cards, suitable packaging may include:

  • Protective sleeve or bag.
  • Bubble wrap or equivalent cushioning.
  • Rigid box or appropriately protective mailer.
  • Void fill.
  • Protection against slab cracking and movement.

For lots, packaging should reasonably protect:

  • Quantity.
  • Edges.
  • Corners.
  • Surfaces.
  • Graded holders.
  • Sealed components, where supported.

GRAIL does not mandate one exact packaging method for every transaction.

Improper packaging that contributes to shipping damage may affect dispute outcomes, seller protection, Trust Score, payout eligibility, or marketplace standing.

13

13. Prohibited Shipping Practices

Even when an item is otherwise permitted, certain shipping practices are prohibited.

Examples include:

  • Shipping a different item.
  • Shipping an empty package.
  • Sending a materially incomplete lot.
  • Providing tracking for an unrelated shipment.
  • Reusing another transaction’s tracking.
  • Manipulating package weight or dimensions.
  • Altering an address without authorization.
  • Redirecting a package to avoid delivery.
  • Falsely claiming carrier acceptance.
  • Shipping prohibited or illegal goods.
  • Deliberately using inadequate packaging.
  • Asking the buyer to complete shipping off-platform.
  • Shipping directly to a different address outside the approved order flow without authorization.

An innocent carrier correction or good-faith mistake does not automatically establish fraud.

GRAIL reviews shipping conduct case by case based on the available evidence.

14

14. Shipment Tracking

Tracking helps protect both buyers and sellers.

When tracking is available, GRAIL may use shipment tracking information to determine or support:

  • Label creation.
  • Carrier acceptance.
  • In-transit status.
  • Delivery attempts.
  • Delivery.
  • Exceptions.
  • Returns.
  • Loss or delay.
  • Buyer Protection.
  • Dispute review.
  • Payout eligibility.
  • Inspection timing.

Carrier scans may be delayed, missing, or inaccurate.

A tracking number alone does not prove shipment.

GRAIL may request acceptance receipts, packaging evidence, or additional documentation.

GRAIL may rely on carrier or supported-provider events in good faith.

Tracking manipulation is prohibited.

15

15. Delivery Confirmation

Delivery is generally determined through carrier-delivered status, supported shipping-provider confirmation, signature confirmation where applicable, or other reasonably reliable evidence.

Delivery confirmation may begin any applicable inspection period described in GRAIL’s Buyer Protection Policy and Refund & Dispute Policy.

Delivery confirmation may support payout eligibility.

Delivery confirmation alone does not prevent a buyer from reporting an eligible issue during the inspection period.

A carrier scan does not automatically defeat an eligible claim and may be investigated if the buyer reports non-receipt, misdelivery, damage, or another supported issue.

16

16. Signature and Insurance

GRAIL’s current public shipping profiles do not present signature confirmation or insurance as universally selectable services for every transaction.

Where the order workflow offers, requires, or later supports signature confirmation or insurance, the availability and requirements may vary by item value, carrier, destination, service level, and transaction settings.

Sellers must follow any displayed requirement for the order.

Nothing in this Policy promises that GRAIL itself provides insurance or that every shipment is insured.

17

17. Delivery Attempts, Refusals, and Unclaimed Packages

Buyers should make reasonable efforts to receive or collect shipments sent to the approved order address.

This includes responding to delivery notices, pickup notices, carrier requests, or address-clarification requests when applicable.

Failed delivery attempts, unclaimed packages, refused delivery, packages held for pickup, and returns to sender may require review.

Return-to-sender situations may require review of:

  • Address accuracy.
  • Carrier records.
  • Seller conduct.
  • Buyer conduct.
  • Package condition.
  • Reshipment costs.
  • Applicable protection policies.

Intentional refusal or failure to collect may affect a claim, but it does not automatically determine every outcome.

GRAIL does not create a universal reshipping fee through this Policy.

18

18. Shipping Delays and Circumstances Beyond Control

Shipping carriers and users may occasionally experience delays due to circumstances beyond the control of buyers, sellers, or GRAIL.

Examples include:

  • Severe weather.
  • Natural disasters.
  • Transportation disruptions.
  • Carrier processing delays.
  • Carrier outages.
  • Labor disruptions.
  • Holidays.
  • Government actions.
  • Public emergencies.
  • Cybersecurity or infrastructure incidents affecting shipping systems.
  • Serious illness or injury.
  • Military service or deployment.
  • Family emergencies.
  • Other events beyond reasonable control.

Carrier delays alone do not automatically qualify a transaction for a refund or Buyer Protection.

The existence of an unforeseen event does not automatically excuse marketplace obligations but may be considered when determining an appropriate resolution.

Users are encouraged to communicate promptly and provide reasonable supporting information when delays occur.

Each situation is evaluated individually and subject to applicable law and marketplace policies.

19

19. Lost or Missing Shipments

If a shipment appears to be lost, delayed beyond a reasonable period, or cannot be located, GRAIL may investigate the transaction.

During the investigation, GRAIL may review:

  • Tracking history.
  • Last carrier scan.
  • Carrier acceptance.
  • Delivery scans.
  • Signature records.
  • Address validation.
  • Carrier claims.
  • Seller shipment receipt.
  • Packaging evidence.
  • Communication between the buyer and seller.
  • Information provided by the shipping carrier.
  • Other relevant evidence reasonably available.

Both buyers and sellers are expected to cooperate during the investigation.

GRAIL may allow additional carrier investigation time, request that a claim be filed, delay payout, issue a refund where appropriate, deny a claim where evidence shows delivery or user misconduct, or take another resolution permitted by the applicable policies.

GRAIL does not guarantee a specific outcome and does not promise that GRAIL itself provides insurance.

20

20. Damaged Shipments

If an item arrives damaged, buyers should, when reasonably possible:

  • Preserve the item.
  • Preserve the shipping container.
  • Preserve internal packaging.
  • Photograph exterior damage.
  • Photograph the shipping label.
  • Photograph internal packaging.
  • Photograph the item damage.
  • Report the problem promptly through GRAIL.
  • Avoid altering or disposing of evidence during review.
  • Follow any instructions provided during the investigation.

Sellers may be asked for:

  • Pre-shipment photographs.
  • Packaging evidence.
  • Shipment receipt.
  • Item photographs.
  • Other relevant documentation.

Damage claims are evaluated individually based on the available evidence.

Improper packaging may affect seller protection or dispute outcomes.

Carrier damage is not automatically treated as seller misconduct in every case.

21

21. Inspection Period After Delivery

For eligible transactions, delivery confirmation generally begins a three-day inspection period.

During this period, buyers should promptly inspect the item to confirm that it:

  • Matches the listing.
  • Is the correct item.
  • Is in the expected condition.

If a material issue is discovered, buyers should report it before the inspection period expires.

A timely eligible report may pause transaction completion and seller payout while GRAIL reviews the matter.

If no qualifying issue is reported before the inspection period ends, the transaction may proceed toward successful completion and seller payout.

The inspection period does not expand rights beyond applicable policies or law.

Fraudulent claims are prohibited.

22

22. Seller Payouts

Seller payouts may depend on successful completion of the shipping process.

Before a payout is released, GRAIL may consider factors including:

  • A tracking number exists where tracking is required by the order workflow.
  • Fulfillment status is delivered.
  • The applicable inspection period has ended or the buyer has approved inspection.
  • No dispute is open or under review.
  • The order has not been refunded.
  • Seller payout amount is valid.
  • Seller payout account is ready.
  • Fraud, security, or compliance review is complete.
  • Other current payout requirements are satisfied.

Buyer payment may be held on the GRAIL platform balance pending completion.

Printing a label does not trigger payout.

Carrier acceptance alone may not trigger payout.

Delivery alone may not immediately trigger payout.

A timely dispute may delay payout.

A temporary delay does not necessarily imply wrongdoing.

Payout timing may also depend on Stripe or connected-account availability.

23

23. Shipping Investigations

When shipping-related issues arise, GRAIL may request information from either party.

Examples include:

  • Carrier receipt.
  • Acceptance scan.
  • Tracking history.
  • Label information.
  • Address information.
  • Packaging photographs.
  • Item photographs.
  • Delivery photographs.
  • Signature data.
  • Communications.
  • Proof of ownership.
  • Other relevant evidence.

Users must cooperate reasonably.

Failure to cooperate with a reasonable investigation may affect protection eligibility or resolution.

GRAIL may rely on information reasonably available at the time.

GRAIL may revise a decision if materially new evidence becomes available where permitted.

A review outcome does not necessarily establish intentional wrongdoing.

24

24. Refunds and Shipping Charges

Treatment of shipping charges depends on the circumstances of the transaction.

Relevant factors may include:

  • Seller cancellation.
  • Failure to ship.
  • Lost shipment.
  • Damaged shipment.
  • Buyer Protection decision.
  • Return-to-sender event.
  • Carrier claim.
  • Used or unused shipping label.
  • Applicable law.
  • Payment-provider rules.

Shipping is not universally refundable or universally non-refundable.

GRAIL will evaluate shipping-charge treatment under the applicable order, Buyer Protection, Refund & Dispute Policy, payment-provider, and legal requirements.

25

25. Returns

GRAIL does not create a broad discretionary change-of-mind return right through this Shipping Policy.

Returns may occur as part of an eligible Buyer Protection return or dispute, a seller-authorized resolution, or another resolution approved through GRAIL’s supported process.

Approved returns must follow GRAIL’s instructions, including the authorized address, tracking, packaging, and timeframe where provided.

Buyers and sellers should not arrange off-platform returns or alternate shipping addresses without authorization through the applicable order workflow.

Nothing in this section limits rights that cannot legally be waived.

26

26. Shipping Restrictions

GRAIL may establish shipping requirements, restrictions, or limitations based on:

  • Marketplace category.
  • Seller location.
  • Destination.
  • Item value.
  • Item category.
  • Package limitations.
  • Carrier availability.
  • Insurance availability, where supported.
  • Signature requirements, where supported.
  • Applicable laws or regulations.
  • Sanctions or trade restrictions.
  • Carrier requirements.
  • Fraud and security review.
  • Operational needs.

These requirements may change as the Platform evolves.

Users are responsible for complying with applicable shipping laws and regulations.

GRAIL may prevent or cancel a transaction when a supported shipping method is unavailable.

27

27. International Shipping

GRAIL checkout currently supports only the destinations enabled in the checkout and address-validation experience.

The current address-validation flow is limited to United States shipping addresses.

Unsupported destinations cannot be used unless GRAIL later enables them through the Platform.

If GRAIL later supports international shipping, buyers may be responsible for customs duties, import taxes, VAT or GST, brokerage fees, carrier charges, import restrictions, delivery delays, and required documentation where applicable.

This Policy does not announce international shipping availability.

28

28. Seller Availability

GRAIL recognizes that sellers may occasionally become temporarily unavailable due to vacations, illness, family emergencies, weather events, military service, or other unexpected circumstances.

Sellers who know they will be unavailable should pause listings or use any available vacation or seller-management tools provided by GRAIL before becoming unavailable.

If an unexpected situation prevents a seller from shipping within the expected timeframe, the seller should notify GRAIL as soon as reasonably possible.

GRAIL may, at its discretion, provide reasonable flexibility for isolated or exceptional circumstances when doing so is consistent with protecting buyers and maintaining marketplace integrity.

Repeated or extended shipping delays, failure to communicate, or misuse of temporary accommodations may result in reduced Trust Score, selling restrictions, or other enforcement actions under existing rules.

Exceptional circumstances do not automatically erase buyer rights.

30

30. Governing Terms

This Shipping Policy forms part of the GRAIL Terms of Service.

It is interpreted consistently with the Terms.

The Terms currently use the laws of the State of Florida.

If this Shipping Policy conflicts with the Terms, the Terms control unless applicable law requires otherwise.

Other laws may still apply where required by jurisdiction, shipment location, consumer-protection rules, carrier requirements, or applicable legal obligations.

31

31. Changes to This Policy

GRAIL may update this Shipping Policy from time to time to reflect changes in:

  • Marketplace features.
  • Shipping providers.
  • Fulfillment procedures.
  • Fraud prevention practices.
  • Applicable laws.
  • Business operations.

When material changes are made, we may notify users through the Platform, email, or another reasonable method.

The “Last Updated” date at the top of this Policy indicates when the current version became effective.

Your continued use of GRAIL after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
