Beta listing scope

Listing Eligibility at a Glance

A quick orientation to current marketplace eligibility. The complete policy below controls.

Generally permitted
Eligible authentic trading cards and supported collectible card listings accurately described through GRAIL’s current Sports, TCG, Raw, Graded, and collection-listing fields.
Not currently permitted
Counterfeit, stolen, illegal, unsafe, chance-based, unsupported, misleading, digital-only, or improperly represented items.
Seller responsibility
Sellers must own or be legally authorized to sell every listed item and must accurately disclose condition, authenticity, quantity, and material alterations.
When uncertain
Contact GRAIL Support before publishing. This summary does not replace the full policy.

GRAIL is committed to maintaining a safe, trustworthy, and transparent marketplace for collectors.

This Prohibited Items Policy explains what may and may not be listed for sale on GRAIL.

Items that violate this Policy may be removed without notice, and repeated or serious violations may result in Trust Score adjustments, account restrictions, suspension, or permanent removal from the Platform.

Sections
01

1. Our Marketplace Standards

GRAIL is designed for the buying and selling of legitimate collectibles and related products.

Every listing should accurately represent what is being offered so buyers can make informed purchasing decisions.

During beta, GRAIL is focused on eligible physical trading cards and closely related card listings that can be accurately represented through the current listing architecture.

If you are ever unsure whether an item is permitted, please contact GRAIL Support before listing it.

02

2. Permitted Items

Examples of items generally permitted on GRAIL are limited to categories supported by the current listing flow.

Currently supported listing categories include:

  • Sports trading cards listed under the Sports category.
  • Trading Card Game (TCG) cards listed under the TCG category.
  • Raw cards, with an accurate supported condition selected for the category.
  • Graded cards and slabs, with the correct grader, grade, and certification information where applicable.
  • Collection showcase cards and collection-offer listings when the listing accurately represents the supported card content.
  • Card lots or collection lots only where the current listing title, description, photographs, and category fields can accurately explain what the buyer will receive.

Listings containing multiple items are permitted only when the listing clearly explains exactly what the buyer will receive and the items can be accurately represented through GRAIL’s current tools.

The current beta listing architecture does not create active marketplace support for standalone memorabilia, standalone autographs, digital items, services, accessories, or other unsupported collectible categories merely because they are collectible.

03

3. Lots, Bundles, and Multi-Item Listings

GRAIL may allow sellers to sell more than one eligible physical card in a single listing when the listing can be accurately represented through current GRAIL fields, photographs, title, and description.

Examples may include:

  • Multiple copies of the same eligible card sold together.
  • Team lots.
  • Player lots.
  • Rookie lots.
  • Complete or partial card sets.
  • A collection lot made of eligible physical cards.

Each lot or bundle must clearly state:

  • Approximate or exact item count.
  • Whether every pictured item is included.
  • Categories included.
  • General condition.
  • Major defects.
  • Whether duplicates are included.
  • Whether graded and raw items are mixed.
  • Significant exclusions.
  • Whether the photographs show the actual items.
  • Any method used to select included items.

Sellers must not intentionally create misleading bundle listings.

Prohibited lot practices include:

  • Keyword-stuffed lots.
  • Lots using premium cards only as visual bait when they are not included.
  • Hidden exclusions.
  • Listings showing cards the buyer will not receive.
  • Listings using “possible,” “chance,” or “up to” value claims to disguise unknown contents.
  • Bulk lots with materially false quantity or condition descriptions.

This Policy does not require sellers to catalog every common card individually when a reasonable bulk description is truthful, complete, and not misleading.

04

4. Mystery Products, Repacks, and Chance-Based Listings

GRAIL does not currently permit seller-created mystery products, repacks, breaks, or chance-based listings unless GRAIL expressly approves them through a future written program.

The following may not currently be listed:

  • Mystery packs.
  • Mystery boxes.
  • Repacks with undisclosed contents.
  • Chase-based packages.
  • Randomized prize products.
  • Chance-based collectible bundles.
  • Breaks or products where the buyer’s received item is determined primarily by chance.
  • Listings that require payment for a chance to receive a higher-value item.
  • Listings whose advertised value depends on undisclosed odds or prize allocation.

Ordinary sealed products originally manufactured and distributed by an established trading-card manufacturer are not automatically treated as seller-created mystery products, provided the product is genuine, the seal is authentic, the product is accurately identified, the category is supported by GRAIL, and the listing complies with applicable law and all GRAIL policies.

Because sealed products are not currently a standalone supported beta listing category unless GRAIL expressly enables them, sellers should not list sealed products unless the current product flow can accurately represent the item.

GRAIL may create a separately reviewed repack, break, or chance-based program in the future with eligibility rules, disclosure requirements, odds or contents requirements, seller approval, buyer protections, geographic restrictions, and other legal or operational controls.

No such program currently exists, and a seller disclaimer does not make mystery products, repacks, breaks, or chance-based listings eligible.

05

5. Accurate Representation

Every listing must truthfully represent the item being offered.

Sellers may not intentionally misrepresent:

  • Condition.
  • Authenticity.
  • Quantity.
  • Contents.
  • Grade.
  • Certification.
  • Ownership.
  • Market value.
  • Rarity.
  • Photographs.
  • Description.

If a listing contains multiple items, the description and photographs should reasonably reflect the items included.

Listings must not omit material information that would affect a reasonable buyer’s purchase decision.

06

6. Counterfeit Items

Buyers rely on sellers to accurately represent the items they list.

The following are prohibited:

  • Counterfeit cards.
  • Counterfeit memorabilia.
  • Fake graded slabs.
  • Fraudulent grading labels.
  • Fraudulent certification numbers.
  • Forged autographs.
  • Fake manufacturer seals.
  • Counterfeit sealed products.
  • Unauthorized reproductions presented as authentic.
  • Proxy cards represented as official cards.
  • Reprints represented as originals.
  • Replica items represented as genuine.
  • Tampered holders or cases represented as untampered.
  • Resealed products represented as factory sealed.
  • Any item intended to deceive a buyer regarding origin, authenticity, grade, or condition.

Counterfeit goods are not permitted merely because they are labeled “replica,” “proxy,” or “custom” when their sale would violate intellectual-property law or create buyer confusion.

A seller-created custom item may be allowed only if the current marketplace supports that category, the item is lawful, it does not infringe third-party rights, it cannot reasonably be confused with an authentic product, and the listing clearly and prominently discloses the item’s nature.

Because the current beta listing architecture does not support standalone custom collectible categories, custom items are not currently permitted unless GRAIL expressly approves the category in writing.

07

7. Altered, Restored, and Modified Cards

If an item has been altered, restored, trimmed, recolored, cleaned, repaired, or otherwise modified in a way that could reasonably affect a buyer’s purchasing decision, the seller must clearly disclose that information in the listing.

Examples requiring prominent disclosure include:

  • Trimming.
  • Recoloring.
  • Cleaning.
  • Pressing.
  • Restoration.
  • Surface alteration.
  • Added or removed material.
  • Rebacking.
  • Autograph alteration.
  • Holder tampering.
  • Label replacement.
  • Repair.
  • Modification affecting condition, authenticity, or value.

Disclosure does not automatically make every altered item eligible.

GRAIL may prohibit an altered item when its sale is unlawful, its identity cannot be reliably established, it creates a material authentication risk, its presentation is likely to mislead buyers, it violates grading-company, manufacturer, or marketplace rules, or GRAIL cannot reasonably support the category.

Failure to disclose material alterations may result in listing removal, dispute resolution in favor of the buyer where appropriate, and marketplace enforcement.

08

8. Grading, Certification, and Authentication Claims

Sellers are responsible for accurate grading, certification, and authentication claims.

The following are prohibited:

  • False grades.
  • False grading-company names.
  • False certification numbers.
  • Certification numbers belonging to another item.
  • Altered grading labels.
  • Fake holders.
  • Claims that GRAIL verified an item when it did not.
  • Claims that PSA, SportsCardsPro, or another provider guarantees a sale price.
  • Misuse of verification badges.
  • Manual manipulation intended to obtain an inaccurate verified market value.

Third-party verification data may be informational. Sellers remain responsible for their listings.

A verification integration does not guarantee authenticity, ownership, condition, or value.

Unsupported authentication claims may result in removal or enforcement.

09

9. Market Value Claims

Market values are informational estimates and may change.

Sellers may not use fabricated, manipulated, or misleading value claims, including:

  • Fabricated comps.
  • Manipulated comparable sales.
  • False scarcity claims.
  • False population-report claims.
  • False “one of one” claims.
  • Misleading estimated values.
  • Incorrectly matched SportsCardsPro products.
  • Claims that an estimate is a guaranteed price.
  • Inflated bundle values based on items not included.
  • Investment-return guarantees.

Market value information displayed through GRAIL or third-party providers does not represent financial, investment, tax, or legal advice.

Users should review the Terms of Service for additional valuation and investment disclaimers.

10

10. Listing Photographs

Listing photographs must support an honest purchase decision.

Listings must use photographs that:

  • Truthfully show the actual item when required.
  • Are owned by or authorized for use by the seller.
  • Are not misleadingly edited.
  • Do not conceal material defects.
  • Do not show certification information belonging to a different item.
  • Do not include unrelated high-value cards as bait.
  • Do not use another seller’s images without authorization.

Stock images may only be used where expressly permitted for an eligible sealed standardized product, if that behavior is supported by the marketplace.

Stock imagery is not permitted for a unique raw or graded card when the buyer needs to inspect the actual item.

11

11. Illegal, Stolen, and Fraudulently Obtained Items

The following may not be listed on GRAIL:

  • Stolen property.
  • Items obtained through account takeover.
  • Items obtained through payment fraud.
  • Items obtained through chargeback abuse.
  • Items obtained through refund fraud.
  • Items subject to ownership disputes.
  • Items a seller does not legally own or have authority to sell.
  • Property subject to liens, court orders, seizure, or legal restrictions.
  • Items obtained through package theft.
  • Items obtained through retail or shipping fraud.
  • Items prohibited by applicable law.
  • Items requiring licenses or permits that the seller does not possess.
  • Any item whose sale would violate applicable federal, state, local, or international law.

Users are responsible for ensuring they have the legal right to sell every item they list.

GRAIL may remove listings, freeze or delay transactions, request proof of ownership, request purchase records, preserve records, and cooperate with payment providers, carriers, rights holders, or law enforcement when legally required or reasonably appropriate.

GRAIL does not promise to independently determine legal ownership in every dispute.

12

12. Regulated, Dangerous, and Unsupported Goods

The following non-exhaustive categories may not be listed on GRAIL:

  • Firearms.
  • Ammunition.
  • Explosives.
  • Weapons.
  • Controlled substances.
  • Illegal drugs.
  • Prescription drugs.
  • Tobacco or nicotine products.
  • Alcohol.
  • Hazardous chemicals.
  • Poisonous or toxic materials.
  • Recalled consumer products.
  • Unsafe products.
  • Human remains.
  • Live animals.
  • Wildlife contraband.
  • Government-issued identification.
  • Stolen financial information.
  • Payment cards.
  • Bank accounts.
  • Cryptocurrency or financial instruments.
  • Lottery tickets.
  • Gambling entries.
  • Digital accounts.
  • Account credentials.
  • Software licenses unless expressly supported.
  • Services rather than physical eligible collectibles.
  • Any goods requiring licensing or regulated fulfillment that GRAIL does not support.

This list is not exhaustive. GRAIL may determine that an item is unsupported or presents excessive legal, fraud, safety, or operational risk.

13

13. Digital and Intangible Items

GRAIL currently supports eligible physical collectibles only unless expressly stated otherwise.

The following may not be listed unless GRAIL later expressly approves and supports the category:

  • Digital-only cards.
  • NFTs.
  • Cryptocurrency.
  • Redeemable account codes.
  • Game accounts.
  • Social-media accounts.
  • Membership accounts.
  • Downloadable files.
  • Software keys.
  • Access credentials.
  • Stored-value cards.
  • Gift cards.
  • Coupons.
  • Event tickets.
  • Services.

A physical redemption card is not automatically treated as a digital account, but the listing must accurately describe the physical item, any redemption status, expiration, limitations, and whether the code has been used.

14

14. Memorabilia and Autographs

Memorabilia and standalone autographs may be listed only when the current marketplace category architecture supports them, the seller legally owns the item, the listing is accurate, any authentication claim is truthful, certification numbers and providers are represented correctly, and no unsupported guarantee of authenticity is made.

The current beta listing flow focuses on physical trading cards and does not support standalone memorabilia or standalone autograph categories.

Autographed cards may be listed only when they can be accurately represented as an eligible card listing and all autograph, grading, authentication, condition, and certification claims are truthful.

Counterfeit memorabilia and forged autographs are prohibited.

15

15. Sealed Product Standards

Sealed trading-card products may only be listed when GRAIL’s current category architecture supports the item and the listing can accurately represent it.

Because sealed products are not currently a standalone supported beta category unless GRAIL expressly enables them, sellers should contact GRAIL Support before attempting to list sealed products.

When sealed products are supported, the following are prohibited:

  • Resealed products represented as factory sealed.
  • Opened products represented as unopened.
  • Weighed, mapped, searched, or tampered products when that fact is not disclosed.
  • Products with replaced shrink wrap.
  • Products with altered manufacturer seals.
  • Boxes or packs with missing contents not clearly disclosed.
  • Counterfeit sealed products.
  • Products with materially damaged packaging not accurately shown.

Nothing in this section permits mystery products, repacks, breaks, or chance-based listings.

16

16. Prohibited Listing Practices

Even if an item itself is permitted, certain listing practices are prohibited.

Examples include:

  • Knowingly misleading titles.
  • Misleading photographs.
  • False descriptions.
  • Fake scarcity claims.
  • Artificially inflated market value claims.
  • Duplicate listings intended to manipulate discovery.
  • Keyword stuffing.
  • Search manipulation.
  • Misleading category selection.
  • Bait-and-switch listings.
  • False urgency.
  • Fake bids or offers.
  • Shill bidding.
  • Listing one item while intending to ship another.
  • Listing an item the seller does not possess or control.
  • Misrepresenting quantity.
  • Misrepresenting condition.
  • Using another seller’s photographs without permission.
  • Off-platform payment solicitation.
  • Fee avoidance.
  • Contact-information placement intended to bypass GRAIL.
  • Manipulating Trust Score.
  • Manipulating GRAIL Credit.
  • Manipulating rewards.
  • Manipulating market values.
  • Coordinating fake transactions.
  • Bot-created or automated abusive listings.
  • Listing prohibited external links.
  • Using listing content to harass, threaten, or promote unlawful activity.

Listings should accurately describe what a buyer will receive without exaggeration or deception.

This section does not prohibit ordinary truthful relisting where the product allows it.

17

17. Preorders, Presales, and Future Delivery

GRAIL does not currently permit speculative preorder, presale, or future-delivery listings unless GRAIL later expressly approves a controlled preorder program.

The following are prohibited:

  • Items the seller does not yet own.
  • Unconfirmed preorder allocations.
  • Speculative presales.
  • Future products with no guaranteed delivery.
  • Redemption promises not supported by the current marketplace.
  • Listings dependent on a future random result.

No controlled preorder program currently exists.

18

18. Recalled and Unsafe Products

Products subject to a government or manufacturer recall may not be listed.

Products known to be unsafe, products with undisclosed contamination, products with unlawful materials, and products whose sale is restricted due to safety requirements are prohibited.

This applies even if the item may have collectible interest.

19

19. Offensive and Illegal Content

Listings or listing content may not:

  • Be unlawful.
  • Threaten or harass others.
  • Promote violent criminal activity.
  • Exploit minors.
  • Contain non-consensual sexual material.
  • Promote designated terrorist organizations.
  • Use hateful or extremist content primarily to praise or promote violence or discrimination.
  • Contain personal information used to intimidate or harm another person.

Historical collectibles are not automatically prohibited solely because they document history.

However, GRAIL may remove items that create legal, safety, reputational, or marketplace-integrity risk.

20

20. Intellectual Property

Sellers may only list items they have the legal right to sell.

Listings may not infringe the intellectual property rights of others.

Sellers may not use:

  • Unauthorized copyrighted photographs.
  • Unauthorized copyrighted artwork.
  • Unauthorized artwork.
  • Counterfeit branding.
  • Confusing trademarks.
  • False manufacturer affiliations.
  • False grading-company affiliations.
  • Another seller’s listing content without permission.
  • Listings that intentionally mislead buyers regarding the origin of an item.

GRAIL may remove content following a valid rights-holder complaint or where infringement reasonably appears likely.

Users may report suspected intellectual-property issues through Report Listing or GRAIL Support.

21

21. Future Marketplace Categories

As GRAIL expands, additional collectible categories may become eligible for listing.

The standards in this Policy apply to all marketplace categories unless GRAIL publishes category-specific rules.

New categories may include additional listing requirements or restrictions designed to protect buyers and sellers.

The absence of a category restriction in this Policy does not mean that GRAIL currently supports that category.

23

23. GRAIL’s Authority

GRAIL reserves the right to review any listing to determine whether it complies with this Policy and the Terms of Service.

If GRAIL reasonably believes that a listing violates marketplace policies, applicable law, or presents an unreasonable risk to users or the Platform, we may take appropriate action, including:

  • Hiding or removing the listing.
  • Blocking publication.
  • Canceling the listing before completion.
  • Canceling a transaction where permitted.
  • Delaying payout.
  • Requesting documentation.
  • Requiring identity or ownership verification.
  • Restricting selling privileges.
  • Adjusting Trust Score through existing rules.
  • Removing promotional benefits.
  • Reversing improperly obtained rewards.
  • Restricting buying or selling.
  • Suspending or terminating an account.
  • Preserving records.
  • Cooperating with service providers, rights holders, carriers, payment providers, or authorities as appropriate.
  • Taking any other reasonable action consistent with our Terms of Service and applicable law.

Listing removal does not necessarily indicate intentional misconduct. In some cases, GRAIL may remove a listing while requesting additional information or clarification from the seller.

Nothing in this Policy changes GRAIL’s actual moderation, payout, refund, dispute, or enforcement systems.

24

24. Reporting Prohibited Listings

If you believe a listing violates this Policy, you may report it through the reporting tools provided on GRAIL.

Users should report suspected:

  • Counterfeit items.
  • Stolen goods.
  • Misrepresentation.
  • Prohibited categories.
  • Fraud.
  • Intellectual-property issues.
  • Unsafe or illegal products.

When submitting a report, please provide as much relevant information as possible, including:

  • A description of the concern.
  • The reason you believe the listing violates this Policy.
  • Any supporting information or documentation available.

Submitting a report does not guarantee that a listing will be removed.

GRAIL reviews reports individually and may request additional information when necessary.

Knowingly submitting false, misleading, or abusive reports may itself violate GRAIL’s Terms of Service and may result in enforcement action.

Emergency or criminal matters should be directed to appropriate authorities where necessary.

25

25. No Automatic Approval

The absence of an item from the examples in this Policy does not mean it is permitted.

GRAIL may determine that an item is unsupported or presents excessive legal, fraud, safety, or operational risk.

Sellers should contact Support before listing uncertain items.

Prior listing approval does not guarantee that identical listings will always remain permitted if law, risk, or policy changes.

27

27. Governing Terms

This Policy forms part of the GRAIL Terms of Service.

It is interpreted consistently with the Terms.

The Terms currently use the laws of the State of Florida.

If this Policy conflicts with the Terms, the Terms control unless applicable law requires otherwise.

28

28. Policy Changes

GRAIL may update this Prohibited Items Policy from time to time to reflect changes in:

  • Marketplace categories.
  • Applicable laws.
  • Industry standards.
  • Fraud prevention practices.
  • Business operations.
  • Platform features.

When material changes are made, we may notify users through the Platform, email, or another reasonable method.

The “Last Updated” date at the top of this Policy indicates when the current version became effective.

Your continued use of GRAIL after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

30. Trusted Marketplace Commitment

GRAIL is committed to building a marketplace where buyers can shop with confidence and sellers can list legitimate collectibles with clarity and transparency.

Our policies are designed to encourage honest transactions, not to discourage legitimate collecting or common hobby selling practices.

We recognize that collectors may sell individual supported cards, complete supported card collections, truthful card lots, duplicate cards, and other collectible formats when GRAIL’s current product can accurately represent and protect the transaction.

What matters most is that listings accurately describe what buyers can reasonably expect to receive.

By working together to maintain honest listings and transparent marketplace practices, buyers and sellers help create a safer and more trusted collecting community for everyone.
