Delete Your GRAIL Account
If you have a GRAIL Collects account (the GRAIL Collects app and grailcollects.com, operated by GRAIL Collectibles LLC), you can ask GRAIL to delete it and the personal information tied to it. You don't need the app to do this.
How to request deletion
On the website
- Sign in to GRAIL at grailcollects.com.
- Open Settings.
- Select Delete Account.
- Re-enter your password and type DELETE to confirm.
In the GRAIL Collects app
- Open Settings and select Delete account.
- Re-enter your password and confirm.
Can't access your account?
You can still ask for deletion without signing in and without resetting your password. Send a deletion request through GRAIL Support:
- Open the account deletion request form. The topic and message are filled in for you.
- Enter your name and the email address on your GRAIL account, and send it.
You can also email support@grailcollects.com from the email address on your account.
To protect your account, GRAIL Support confirms every request with the email address on the account before anything is deleted. GRAIL will never ask for your password. A request about an account that isn't yours is not acted on.
What happens after you request deletion
- Your active listings come down right away. A live auction that already has bids, or a card reserved by an accepted bundle offer, stays until it's settled.
- Anything still open is finished first. If you have an unshipped sale, a purchase on its way, an open dispute or refund, an unpaid auction win, a pending payout, a GRAIL Credit balance or an active GRAIL Pass, the request waits. Your account stays open so you can finish these, but you can't start new purchases, sales, bids or offers. An active GRAIL Pass is set to end at the close of the period you've paid for.
- Then the deletion is completed. Once nothing is open, choose Check & Finalize Deletion in Settings (or GRAIL Support completes a request made through the form). Your public profile is anonymized, your login is removed and you're signed out everywhere.
- Some records are kept. Records GRAIL needs for legal, tax, accounting, payment, dispute and fraud-prevention reasons are kept after deletion, are not shown publicly and are not tied to your public profile.
Completed deletion can't be undone.
What is deleted and what is kept
| Information | Deleted or anonymized | Kept |
|---|---|---|
| Account credentials | Your login email is replaced with a placeholder that identifies no one, your password is replaced, your sign-up details are cleared and every session is signed out. The account can never be signed into again, and the email address is free to use for a new account. | An internal account number (not your name or email), so the records below stay consistent. |
| Public profile | Your username is replaced (deleted_ plus a short code), your name becomes “Deleted Collector”, and your bio, profile photo and storefront are removed. Your watchlist, follows, followers and blocks are removed. | Ratings and reviews you left on completed orders stay, shown under the anonymized name. |
| Listings and uploaded content | Your active listings come down when you make the request and are no longer shown publicly. | Listing records and their photos stay in GRAIL’s marketplace records, not shown publicly, including for cards that sold. |
| Messages | They show the anonymized profile instead of your username and photo. | Messages you sent stay in the other collector’s conversation, because they can be needed for an order, a dispute or a fraud review. |
| Orders and payments | — | Order, payment, refund, payout, GRAIL Pass and GRAIL Credit records, for tax, accounting, chargebacks and disputes. GRAIL never stores full card numbers; Stripe processes payments. |
| Shipping information | — | The shipping address on each order stays with that order. Saved addresses in your address book aren’t removed automatically yet; ask GRAIL Support and they will be removed. |
| Disputes and fraud prevention | — | Dispute, report, trust and safety, and security records, to resolve claims, prevent fraud and protect other collectors. |
| Notification devices | Your devices stop receiving GRAIL notifications. | — |
Kept records are held only as long as they are needed for these purposes or as the law requires. GRAIL is finalizing specific retention periods with legal review and will publish them in the Privacy Policy.
